Accumulation of a Treasure, Peter Roberts I am a twenty-five year old holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from The University of Texas in Austin. I plan to continue my education in a master's or doctorate program, but I am currently finishing the Full-Time Training in Anaheim, a two-year Bible truth and church service organized by Living Stream Ministry in California. During my time here I have gained a real appreciation for the ministry of Witness Lee. His ministry has opened up the Bible to me in a way that is faithful to the divine truth and also helpful to me in my practice of the Christian life. An example of this occurred just last week. Due to my disposition and culture, I am a person who expects quick, big results. Consequently, when I consider my spiritual maturity I am often discouraged. Last week I was feeling particularly down when I began to read a portion of The Experience and Growth in Life by Witness Lee. After describing the up-and-down experiences of the Lord's disciples, particularly Peter, in reference to the accumulation of spiritual vision, Lee states that no time spent with the Lord is a waste because it causes more treasure (2 Corinthians 4:7) to be accumulated in our being. This statement encouraged me not only in regard to my past, but even more, for my present practice. Since then, during the past few days I have been practicing to spend any little time I can with the Lord Jesus. I have a fifteen-minute commute twice a day, and I've been using those minutes to contact the Lord in prayer and by musing on His Word. I know that this time is not a waste, but a gradual accumulation of a treasure of vision and experience that will cause me to grow in Christ. I thank the Lord for the ministry of Witness Lee, which, by opening up the Word, has led me into this and many other practical experiences of Christ.
